Fairway Children’s Centre offers a range of services to children under five and their families, including health services, adult learning, welfare support, stay and play groups and advice drop-ins. We have well resourced indoor and outdoor spaces for children to learn, play and explore. 

Registration

All families are asked to complete a registration form when first visiting our centre. You can do this in person or by using the following link:

Opening Hours

Fairway Children’s Centre is open from 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.* 

*Please see our timetable for any fixed closure dates.

*Please enquire about our Sunday Stay and Play session.

Drop in sessions

Fairway Children's Centre offers a range of community sessions for children aged 0 to 5 years old. Most sessions are drop-in meaning no booking is required.

Baby Group

These sessions are from 0-18 months.

It is a chance for your baby to explore natural materials, treasure baskets, enjoy sensory play and learn about the benefits of tummy time.

Stay and Play

These sessions are from 0-5 year olds.

A wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities are on offer to help your child develop and explore all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

    •Healthy Start vitamins - pick up your free vitamins when you bring in your voucher

  • Support for new parents

    Following the birth of a baby we can offer:

    •- Breasfeeding support

    •- baby self-weighing service

    •- Baby & parents groups

    •- Baby massage

    •- Health promotion workshops

    •- Baby moves

  • Activities for toddlers

    •- 2 year delevelopment checks by Health Visitors

    •- Stay and Play sessions

    •- Toddler moves

    •- Healthy eating workshops

    •- Oral Health advice

    •- Access to Speech and Language support

  • Support with looking for childcare

    •Find out how your two year old can access 15 hours of Early Education (FEE2) for free each week

    •Working alongside Barnet Early Years Team, the Children's Centre can help check eligibility and support you finding a suitable setting.

  • Support with returning to work
    • Access to adult learning in partnership with vital workplace training.
    • ESOL (English for speakers of other languages) courses in partnership with Barnet and Southgate College.
    • Help with Welfare Rights.
  • Support with Parenting

    If you need a little help and advice, please do not hesitate to ask us. Our friendly outreach practitioners can support with the following:

    • Breastfeeding support
    • Introduction to solids
    • Sleep routines
    • Behaviour management
    • Paediatric First Aid workshop
    • We also have links with parent programs.
  • Support for Adults

    You are just as important to us as your children. Please ask if you require any of the following:

    • Advice on benefits
    • Food bank vouchers
    • Healthy Start vitamins for adults
    • Outreach services such as Solace (support for victims of domestic violence)
    • Early help
    • Parenting programs
